Project Complete — Aged Care Development, Emu Plains

Residential Aged Care, Emu Plains

We’ve completed our reinforcement supply on a residential aged care development at 6 & 8 Troy Street and 1-3 Emerald Street, Emu Plains.

Our scope covered rebar, mesh and accessories supply for the project, from initial material take-offs through to final delivery on site.

Why aged care builds are different

Residential aged care developments carry their own set of construction pressures. Programmes are typically staged across multiple buildings, trades need consistent and predictable access, and there’s little tolerance for material delays holding up a pour or pushing back a handover. On a project spanning two street addresses, keeping fabrication and delivery aligned with the actual sequence of works on site matters as much as the quality of the reinforcement itself.

How we approached it

Our team worked from the project’s construction drawings to quantify material requirements and prepare bar bending schedules that matched the build programme. From there, fabrication and delivery were coordinated so reinforcement arrived where and when it was needed, without creating pinch points for the trades working around it.

The scope included the full range needed for a build of this kind: deformed rebar for structural elements, mesh for slabs, and the accessories, bar chairs, spacers and site essentials, that support correct placement and cover during the pour.

Getting it right the first time

On any residential or aged care job, rework caused by incorrect specification or late delivery is expensive in ways that go beyond the material cost. It affects trade scheduling, extends programme timelines, and in aged care specifically, can delay a facility opening to residents
who are waiting on it. Supplying reinforcement that’s correctly shaped, clearly documented and delivered to programme is what keeps that risk out of the equation.

What’s next

With the reinforcement scope now complete, the project moves into its next construction phase. It’s the kind of project we’re set up to support end to end, from design review and take-offs through to fabrication, delivery and on-site problem solving if it’s needed.
